Certification Programs
AMHSA Certificates of Achievement
AMHSA recognizes municipal employees having extensive training in the field of health and safety and deserve recognition. AMHSA provides employees and municipalities guidance in selecting the appropriate training for staff depending on their role in the municipal health and safety program.

Please contact AMHSA if you need assistance finding a course or questions on course equivalencies.
The following criteria should be considered prior to registering for a Program Certificate:
- AMHSA courses that don’t have an expiry date should not exceed 36 months.
- The course must have been completed within the last three (3) years from the date of the Course Equivalency Request.
- Non-AMHSA courses that don’t have an expiry date should not exceed 10 years.
- Training provided for non-AMHSA courses cannot exceed 50% of the total amount of courses required.

Recognized Municipal Health and Safety Advisor
Pursuing your Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Certificate through the University of Alberta? If you have achieved the RMHSA certificate within the last 5 years, apply for transfer credit to receive 21 hours towards the 42 hours of the "enrichment seminar" requirement of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Certificate program.
