2026 WCB-Alberta Employer Premium Rates Announced
On December 3, 2025, The Workers’ Compensation Board-Alberta (WCB-Alberta) announced 2026 Employer Premium Rates. Unfortunately, the announcement includes Employer Premium Rate increases for all 4 municipal Industry Codes (Villages, Towns, Cities, and Municipal Districts).

proactive steps to improve your premiums
WCB-Alberta has outlined the following steps to positively impact your premium payments:
- Offer modified work options for injured workers with return-to-work planning.
- Partner with safety associations, such as AMHSA, to create safer work environments through injury/illness prevention initiatives, training, and education.
- Join the Partnerships in Injury Reduction (PIR) program. Being a Certificate of Recognition (COR) holder can reduce your premiums by up to 20%.
