Orientation: Train-the-Trainer

This half-day session will assist in-house trainers to develop a health and safety orientation guide to use when orienting new employees to their workplace. Participants will understand the employer’s responsibility and due diligence, legislated requirements, be able to determine who should conduct employee orientations, and create an effective template / trainer’s guide. Participants must feel comfortable training employees. Knowledge of adult training concepts and experience as a trainer is beneficial. recommended for managers, supervisors, foremen, and workers selected to perform orientations.

This session was developed in conjunction with AMHSA’s Avoid the OH&S Blues: Orientation to Municipal Health and Safety video. All participants will receive a complimentary copy of the DVD and a customizable orientation template on CD to supplement their training sessions. The course includes classroom instruction, video, group discussions, and an exam.

Note: Participants must pass the exam with a minimum of 80% in order to receive a Trainer Certificate.
