Health and Safety Management Systems and Auditing - Small Employer (SECOR)

The Small Employer Certificate of Recognition (SECOR) program is an opportunity for employers with a small number of workers to develop a health and safety management system and achieve a Certificate of Recognition. This course introduces the SECOR requirements and processes. The course includes classroom instruction, group discussion, group exercises, and exam. Recommended for managers, supervisors, and safety auditors.

SECOR is for employers with ten or fewer employees.

Notes:

  • In order to achieve auditor certification, participants must pass a written exam (minimum passing grade is 80%
  • Auditor certification expires 3 years from date of issue
  • In order to maintain certification, auditors must complete the following prior to their certification expiry date:
    • complete 2 audits (must pass QA review)
    • re-attend the Health and Safety Management Systems and Auditing - Small Employer course (minimum 80% passing grade) 

Duration: 1 day

CEU points: 0.6

BCRSP previously awarded 0.5 points for this course. The current class contains 6 technical hours and may be eligible for CM points.
