Register today! Space is limited. AMHSA is offering this free Impairment in the Workplace workshop for our members - (50 participants is our capacity)!
AMHSA is the proud recipient of an Alberta Labour OHS Innovation and Engagement Grant which will be applied to developing and hosting these workshops.
The first half of the session will be instructor-led, and the second half will be an interactive workshop. The heart of the event will spotlight increasing knowledge of the new marijuana legislation, impairment in the workplace, and how best to implement OHS policies and awareness training every day.
This free session is for members only and includes breakfast snacks and lunch. Upon attending this event, each participant will receive a certificate. This workshop is located in Airdrie:
September 25 - Genesis Place, 800 East Lake Blvd., Airdrie - 10 am - 3 PM (day after the Sept 24 SASC meeting in the Town of Sylvan Lake)

SASC Meeting

Location: Town of Sylvan Lake Fire Hall
The next Southern Alberta Safety Council meeting will be held September 24, 2019, from 10 am to 3 pm. The meeting will be hosted by the Town of Sylvan Lake and held at the Fire Hall (address to follow).
This meeting will provide a valuable opportunity to network with your peers. Members are encouraged to share information on their health and safety trends, audits, significant incidents and innovation. In addition to the roundtable, updates will be provided by AMHSA, WCB, and Partnerships.

- Yes. Breakfast items, lunch and beverages will be served to all attendees. Please ensure that you RSVP your attendance so that the host is able to accommodate everyone. If you have any severe food restrictions (i.e., allergies, food sensitivities, etc.) please inform Terri Filipski right away so that we can accommodate needs. If you are not able to attend, please provide us with the courtesy of your change of attendance so that we may modify our catering order. Thank you.

◙ AARFP Conference & Trade Show

The Alberta Association of Recreation Facility Personnel (AARFP) is delighted to host the 45th Annual Conference and Trade Show, The Bridge To Recreation.
Recreation is more important than ever, the role it plays in the lives of individuals, communities and its ability to bridge the differences between people, cultures and communities. What better way than to build upon the current skills and tools you have, then through a conference of like-minded individuals who are also looking to connect and learn. This year’s conference program gives you the opportunity to learn and share from others who face similar challenges, successes, as well as learn from the experts who have bridged the gaps.
With over 30 education sessions, numerous tradeshow exhibitors, inspiring keynote speakers and opportunities to network. Recreation professionals will take away information that will help them bridge the gaps in recreation, collaborate with community members and inspire positive changes.
The conference will be held in Lethbridge, AB on April 21-24, 2024, with attendance by 250-300 delegates in recreation operations from all over Alberta and a few from British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and the Northwest Territories.
