Membership

Members

Every town, village, municipal district, county, city and specialized municipality in Alberta is automatically a member of AMHSA. Members receive training at discounted rates, and AMHSA will act as their Certifying Partner through the Partnerships in Injury Reduction program. A levy is taken from member municipalities' WCB premiums to support the Association.

Member registration fees are as follows (all include course materials):

  • 1/2 day courses: $40
  • 1 day courses: $50
  • 2 day courses: $90
  • Defensive Driving: $65
  • Operator Safety courses: $175
  • Workplace Violence Prevention: $85

Associate Members

Although our primary mandate is to assist municipalities in their workplace health and safety efforts, other employers may join as associate members for an annual fee of $500. Associate members may take advantage of the training that we offer, borrow videos from our library, and purchase AMHSA course materials and videos. AMHSA may also act as Certifying Partner for associate members through the PIR program.

As of January 1, 2011 Associate Members pay the same registration fees as Members.

Non-Members

Non-member training fees have been adopted by the AMHSA Board of Directors as of January 1, 2011. Introducing non-member rates is hoped to help members hosting on-site courses fill their classes and avoid being charged minimum fees. Non-members may take AMHSA courses but may not use AMHSA as a Certifying Partner.

Non-Member registration fees are as follows (all include course materials):

  • 1/2 day courses: $60
  • 1 day courses: $75
  • 2 day courses: $135
  • Defensive Driving: $100
  • Operator Safety courses: $265
  • Workplace Violence Prevention: $125
