Withdrawals

Registrants withdrawing from an AMHSA  course will be invoiced for the entire amount of the registration fee unless AMHSA is notified at least 10 working days prior to the date of the course.

Course Cancellation

Once AMHSA has confirmed a trainer for an on-site course, if the requesting municipality cancels the session -

  • with 10 or more working days notice, AMHSA charges 1/2 the training fee
  • with less than 10 working days notice, AMHSA charges the full training fee

This cancellation fee is charged because AMHSA cannot book contract trainers, then cancel the contract without paying them. Once booked, our instructors have committed that day and therefore do not accept other jobs and lose that revenue.

Please note - there is no "postponing" a course due to weather or any other factor. Once an instructor has been booked, the municipality will be charged if the course does not proceed on that date. Consideration may be given for Operator Safety courses only, where a municipality may be able to cancel or postpone due to adverse weather conditions.

Minimums

AMHSA requires a minimum of 10 participants per on-site course (maximum 20), with the exception of Operator Training (4-6/class) and Workplace Violence (15-22/class). If minimum class requirements are not met, the hosting municipality will be responsible for making up the difference and will be invoiced accordingly.

For example:

  1. Town of Happy Valley hosts Prime Contractor and has only 6 of their own participants attend the scheduled course; the town would be invoiced for the 6 plus 4 (making the minimum requirement of 10).
  2. Town of Happy Valley hosts Prime Contractor and has only 6 of their own participants attend and 2 participants from another municipality. The hosting municipality (Happy Valley) would then be invoiced for 8 participants (6 of their own plus 2 to meet the minimum of 10).
