About

The Alberta Municipal Health and Safety Association (AMHSA) is a non-profit association governed by a Board of Directors. Our offices are located in Sherwood Park and Calgary. We offer training to municipal employers, managers, supervisors, workers and councillors on a wide variety of workplace health and safety topics.

In addition to providing training, AMHSA also:

• acts as a Certifying Partner in the Partnerships In Injury Reduction (PIR) program
• coordinates various Safety Councils throughout the province
• produces publications (e.g. catalogues, annual reports) and videos
• works with municipalities to help them implement, evaluate and maintain their health and safety management systems
• is available to answer any health and safety questions or concerns
• has a library of videos and printed materials available for members' use

Although our primary mandate is to assist municipalities in their workplace health and safety efforts, other employers may join as associate members for an annual fee.
