Mandate

AMHSA's mandate is to provide meaningful safety training and education programs to our members in a cost-effective manner.

Our activities focus on the prevention of occupational injuries and disease in the municipal workforce. We help our members establish health and safety management systems to control losses, reduce costs, and meet their legal responsibilities.

Goals:

  • Provide Alberta municipalities and associate members with cost-effective training and education
  • Promote effective health and safety management
  • Monitor and disseminate information on OH&S legislation and government policies which impact our members and associate members
  • Act as Certifying Partner for Alberta's municipal sector in the Partnerships In Injury Reduction program
